It’s been a fast nine months of ESPN Front Row.

It all started with our “A Day In The Life” photo project, a real-time look at ESPN employees at work for a 24-hour period.

Yesterday, we revisited the first 12 hours of March 30, 2011.

Marco Poulin, transmission specialist, works from a lift to align a Torus satellite feed assembly to ensure optimal signal reception from one of the 47 satellites that transmission utilizes to ingest program content. The Torus antenna itself is capable of receiving signals from up to 35 satellites simultaneously, from a fixed position.

Nine months ago, ESPN Front Row launched with an ambitious photo project entitled “A Day In The Life.”

The real-time photo publishing effort reflects the work of dozens of employees around the world who captured ESPN at work for a 24-hour period.

In this post, revisit the first 12 hours of March 30, 2011. On Jan. 2, we’ll present the second half of that spring day — and night.

Day In The Life: SportsNation

Our friends at SportsNation invited ESPN Front Row photographer Joe Faraoni inside to track the show throughout the day in photos.

This “Day In The Life” glimpse at how the show operates centered upon the unveiling of the winner of EA Sports Madden 12 cover voting. After about 13 million votes were cast, Peyton Hillis edged Michael Vick.

A look back at “A Day In The Life”

Thanks for joining us during Launch Week for ESPN Front Row. For a three-day old, we’ve covered a lot of ground.

We needed to cover a lot of ground to execute “A Day In The Life” photo essay on Wednesday. Dozens of ESPN employees shot hundreds of pictures of their colleagues at work in a 24-hour period. We’re proud of them and the results. To revisit, please click here.
