Last Thursday, ESPN wrapped up its presence at the National Cable Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) annual Cable Show 2014. In addition to ESPN president and Disney Media Networks co-chairman John Skipper serving as co-chair of the event, ESPN made several announcements at the show, including:
- ESPN will be the official broadcaster for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles
- Google Fiber was announced as the fourth distributor to carry the SEC Network for its August 14th debut
- SEC Network released its football schedule for the first four weeks of the season featuring all 14 SEC football teams
- Longhorn Network will launch to DISH customers on May 28th
- New WatchESPN app released in the Amazon Appstore
- Eric Ratchman has been promoted to senior vice president, global distribution and strategy by Disney and ESPN Media Networks
