Newest SEC Network analysts favor “The Swamp” as best “away-game stadium”
BATON ROUGE, La. – Today, the SEC Network announced Anthony “Booger” McFarland and Marcus Spears will be joining the network as college football analysts when it launches Aug. 14.
Each man was a standout defensive player at LSU; each became an NFL first-round draft choice. Front Row caught up with both McFarland and Spears, who attended today’s LSU Spring Game, and asked them a few questions about their Southeastern Conference experiences:

What was your favorite football moment while playing at LSU?
Spears: Intercepting a pass from Jason White of the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2003 National Championship game for a touchdown in front of my family and hometown fans.
McFarland: The night we ended the 25 SEC game-winning streak of the Florida Gators in 1997 in Baton Rouge. It was one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever had on any level.
What was your favorite SEC “away-game stadium” to play in?
Spears: I loved playing in The Swamp in Gainesville against Florida.
McFarland: I always enjoyed playing in stadiums that are big and loud and none exemplified that more than The Swamp in Gainesville.
Name an SEC player past or present you would have most liked to have played against.
Spears: I would have loved to play against [quarterbacks] Cam Newton at Auburn and [SEC Network analyst] Tim Tebow at Florida. I admired their games and would’ve wanted to beat two of the greats.
McFarland: Without a doubt Tim Tebow, he was one of the best college football players ever and to compete against him would have been the ultimate challenge for me and my LSU Tigers.
