The Monday Lineup: 9 ESPN moments from the weekend and for the week ahead PLUS: Chris Connelly’s Michael Sam interview – continuing SportsCenter coverage

Sunday evening, ESPN debuted portions of Chris Connelly’s interview with SEC Defensive Player of the Year Michael Sam, who became the first openly gay NFL Draft prospect when he shared his story with ESPN, the New York Times and Outsports.com.

Both SportsCenter and Outside the Lines (3 p.m. ET, ESPN) will have continuing coverage of Sam’s news as well as reaction to Marcus Smart’s three-game suspension in the wake of Saturday’s incident at Texas Tech.

Covering the Sam story, SportsCenter reporter Mark Schwarz is at the University of Missouri campus, providing live reporting throughout the day. A crew will also be in Sam’s hometown of Hitchcock, Texas.

On the Smart story, reporter Shelley Smith is at the Oklahoma State University campus while reporter Pedro Gomez is in Lubbock, Texas, and filed a piece on Texas Tech “super fan” Jeff Orr.
