The auditions have begun for the third edition of ESPN Deportes’ Dream Job: El Reportero. The contest gives Spanish-speaking fans the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the camera in a bid to become a reporter for ESPN Deportes during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

This edition of Dream Job kicked off at the beginning of this month with a casting call in Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE. Check out the best of that day in the video above and watch for updates on related social media (see sidebar) and by watching #Redes (8 p.m. ET, weeknights, ESPN Deportes). Fans also can audition by submitting their videos online via ESPNDeportes.com.

Front Row asked Mauricio Pedroza, the first winner of ESPN Deportes’ Dream Job (2006), for insights.

What would be the best advice you can give to the participants?
Enjoy the process. That’s what worked the best for me. I think pressure works against the contestants. It’s normal to be nervous and anxious, but if you concentrate on enjoying and taking advantage of the opportunity, you will be able to give it your best.

How did you prepare for the competition in 2006?
I bought every single magazine with facts about the World Cup that I could find, but that was only to reinforce existing knowledge. As fans, we are already familiar with the history and current events in the world of soccer, but it’s always a good idea to do your homework as if you were studying for a test at school. That helped me a lot.

What is your best memory of the 2006 World Cup?
Having the chance to interview players that I consider my idols.

Editor’s note: Daniela Rodríguez won ESPN Deportes Dream Job 2010 and reported from the World Cup that year. Today, she works for ESPN Deportes Radio in Houston (1180 AM).
