COLLEGE STATION, Texas — ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot aired from Texas A&M’s campus this past Saturday just hours before the No. 6-ranked Aggies fell to defending national champion Alabama.
GameDay began setting up on the A&M campus on Tuesday. ESPN Images joined the crew on Wednesday morning to capture campus scenic photos, behind-the-scenes shots and the multiple telecasts throughout the week. Various ESPN programs and platforms also aired from College Station last week: College Football Live on Thursday and Friday; ESPN Radio’s College GameDay; and ESPN3 captured Texas A&M’s Midnight Yell Practice Friday night.
Onsite talent included commentators, analysts and reporters Joe Tessitore, Scott Van Pelt, Ryen Russillo, Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, David Pollack, Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi and Paul Finebaum.
Texas A&M’s Yell Leaders were on set Saturday morning for the show, keeping the crowd hyped; they even participated in Pollack’s tweeting segment. Singer Lyle Lovett, an A&M Class of 1980 alum, served as the week’s guest picker.
This Saturday, GameDay heads for Fargo, N.D. prior to the Delaware State at North Dakota State matchup (GameDay, 9 a.m. ET, ESPN; Delaware State-NDSU, 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3). The Bison were part of an Upset Saturday during Week 1 of the season when they stunned defending co-Big 12 champion Kansas State, 24-21.
