The 2013 college football season – ESPN’s 30th of live game telecasts – will kick off Thursday, Aug. 29 and showcase 10 games across multiple platforms beginning at 6 p.m. ET with North Carolina at South Carolina on ESPN. That much anticipated day is 30 days from today. And what would be a better way to gear up and add to the anticipation of the season than a countdown of facts, videos, stories, audio clips, quotes and more – every day via Twitter – until toe meets leather?

ESPN’s four-person college sports PR team will take to Twitter with a daily tweet about ESPN’s college football coverage from today through the season’s start. Releases, talent predictions, behind-the-scenes photos and videos, show info, schedule updates, team-by-team historical and scheduling facts and figures will all be included.

How many Thursday night games have North Carolina and South Carolina – which will meet in the first game of the season – played? Did LSU coach Les Miles sample the greenery while on the ESPN campus? What would analyst Lee Corso say about the start of the season? Who will win the National Championship? Why do Ole Miss’s Hugh Freeze and Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen think GameDay should go to their schools for the first time? Only the tweets know – and you will too as you follow along.

Every countdown to kickoff tweet from @MsPotts_ESPN, @MikeHumesESPN, @Gracie_ESPNU and @ESPNRachel will include #ESPNKickoff and be curated here on Front Row in a running timeline.

The fun doesn’t stop at the start of the season, it’s just beginning. ESPN will showcase more than 450 games from the kickoff to the confetti covering the BCS National Champion. And ESPN’s college sports PR team will be tweeting scheduling updates, ratings, quotes and more.
