Los Lonely Boys show their ‘Texas Pride’ for Monday Night Football

Tonight’s Monday Night Football “open” — the beginning to the telecast — is all about “Texas Pride.” Much of that pride emanates from the homegrown Texican rock’n’roll trio Los Lonely Boys.

An ESPN crew traveled deep into the heart of the Lone Star State last week to help set the stage for ESPN’s Chicago Bears-Dallas Cowboys matchup (8:30 p.m. ET).

Their destination: the West Texas town of San Angelo, the hometown of the Garza brothers.

In addition to filming cow-herding, oil rigs and scenes of Texas high school football, the ESPN crew shot the Los Lonely Boys trio — Henry (lead guitarist), Ringo (drummer) and JoJo (bass) — at San Angelo State Park.

The photos in the gallery above show the band at dusk with the setting sun providing a gorgeous view of the Texas sky. Henry also took part in a recording session in Austin last week.

“With the Dallas Cowboys hosting Monday Night Football this week, we have a distinct Texas theme to the show’s open, and Los Lonely Boys seemed like a perfect fit for the music,” said ESPN’s Music Department director, Kevin Wilson. “Their sound has that great Texas rock flavor, and the brothers’ Tex-Mex American roots made them an ideal choice for ESPN and this game.”
