Joe Walsh, an Analog Man, goes digital with Sunday NFL Countdown

Rock legend Joe Walsh has provided the soundtrack to Sunday NFL Countdown since last September with his popular Funk #50.
This week, Walsh will be live in studio in Bristol, Conn., during ESPN’s popular three-hour NFL pregame show (10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET).
In addition to riffing Countdown’s unofficial anthem — which he created specifically for the show based on the classic Funk #49 — Walsh will perform parts of hit songs like Life’s Been Good and In the City coming in and out of commercial breaks.
Walsh, a longtime football fan, will also have the chance to visit with ESPN’s Chris Berman, whom he has known for many years.
“I thought the [Baltimore] Ravens were going to take it last year but I can’t be a fan because I’m from Cleveland,” Walsh said.
“So far the most entertaining part of the season is the referees. I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do on ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown but it will be loud.”
Berman added: “The Eagles remain one of the great rock n’ roll bands of all times, so to have Joe Walsh in studio with us is nothing short of a privilege and a gas. Life’s been good to NFL Countdown so far. Now you know why the Swami picked the Eagles to the Super Bowl.”
This summer Walsh released Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years. He is currently touring in support of the new record throughout 2012, both in the U.S. and abroad.

In 1973, Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1976 he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live.
In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. In 1998, The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Walsh performed at the 2012 Grammys with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring McCartney.
