Week in review

As you might have heard by now, Hurricane Irene is fast approaching the East Coast.

Here’s hoping that our worst fears are never realized.

We hope our colleagues at the new Longhorn Network, far from the storm’s path, have a flawless launch tonight.

For the rest of us — especially if you’re on the East Coast and you’ve got your laptop charged if there’s a power failure — catch up on your Front Row reading.

This week we got:

An inside look at Troy Polamalu’s homecoming from ESPN The Magazine;

A touching recollection about the Special Olympics World Summer Games;

A preview of the latest Monday Night Football campaign;

And a cool way to keep track of the season via Google Calendar.

On other fronts, ESPN Senior Director of Client Tech Services & Support Chip Cifone was profiled by Armchairgeneral.com, a site devoted to one of his hobbies: collecting WWII memorabilia.

He was profiled on Front Row by Karol Sucec in May.

Come back to Front Row in the coming days for more MNF as well as US Open and College GameDay features.
