Longhorn Network Open House

ESPN’s newest network launches in one week.

Thursday in Austin, the Longhorn Network gave the University of Texas community and local media a sneak peek at its new studios.

The production space is located just six blocks from Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

The network’s on-air team of Lowell Galindo, Samantha Steele and Kevin Dunn were among the panelists taking questions from the media.

Joining them were Dave Brown, Longhorn Network’s Vice President for Programming; Burke Magnus, ESPN Senior Vice President, College Sports Programming; and Stephanie Druley, Vice President, Production for Longhorn Network.

Texas football coach Mack Brown, athletic directors DeLoss Dodds and Chris Plonsky and several Longhorn athletes also were on the dais.

The Longhorn Network debuts Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. ET when it goes live from the South Mall on the UT campus.

Galindo, Steele and Dunn will be joined on the set by the crew of the ESPN College GameDay — featuring Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Erin Andrews —  for previews of the Longhorns’  football season.

A Pepperdine-Texas volleyball game will follow the two-hour special.

Front Row will have more on the Longhorn Network debut next week.
